ALEXA MOTA
Alexa Mota is a Fashion Stylist and Art Director whose career spans more than 20 years in the fashion and textile industry. Having spent over a decade of her professional career in Canada, Alexa is now based in Portugal, bringing together creative vision, product expertise and hands-on production experience to shape visual outcomes that serve both the brand and the product.
Her professional background encompasses creative direction, product development, sourcing, manufacturing, operations, e-commerce, fashion styling and art direction, giving her an understanding of fashion that extends far beyond what happens in front of the camera.
This breadth of experience allows Alexa to understand not only how a product should look, but also what sits behind it: its design intent, brand identity, commercial purpose and the customer it needs to connect with.
Having led design and product development teams, coordinated cross-functional projects and implemented process improvements, she understands how products, people and operations are interconnected. This perspective allows her to anticipate challenges, identify bottlenecks and offer practical solutions while navigating the priorities and responsibilities of different teams.
FASHION STYLING & ART DIRECTION
With over 200 photoshoots styled, Alexa brings extensive hands-on experience to fashion and commercial productions, with a particular specialisation in e-commerce.
Her work ranges from developing complete looks and casting talent to directing photographers, models, makeup artists and hairstylists, establishing styling and post-production guidelines, and overseeing final image selection to maintain visual consistency throughout the production.
Alexa adapts the scope of her involvement to each project, from focused Fashion Styling support to broader Art Direction, according to the needs of the production and the existing team.
A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH
Strong creative direction does not need to overpower the people behind the work.
Alexa approaches each production with experience, a clear point of view and respect for the expertise of those involved. Accustomed to working across departments and organisational levels, she understands the importance of listening, navigating different priorities and bringing teams together around a shared direction.
BASED IN PORTUGAL
After developing her career across Portugal and Canada, Alexa is now based in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal.
She works on location at client headquarters, studios and designated shoot locations, and is available for productions throughout Portugal and internationally.
